No one wants to shoot a basketball with the hope of it never reaching the basket. No one wants to kick a soccer ball across the field, hoping that it never reaches the goal. Why is that? It’s because we were created to WIN. We are all equipped with tools and resources to help us reach our goals. However, many of us struggle, because our dreams are built upon weak foundations. If you have felt left out of the winner’s circle of life, then it is time to strengthen your success process.
1)Â Find a Mentor
In life, you have to be willing to be coached. It is the responsibility of your mentor to train you, challenge you, and help you prepare to perform at your best. Your mentor should help you stay on track and keep you focused on reaching your goal. Find a mentor that you can trust. Make sure it is someone who will commit to holding you accountable and push you to be your best.
2) You Don’t Have to do it By Yourself
There is always someone who can teach you something. Don’t ever think that you have to do it alone. There are over 7 billion people in this world, and you were not placed amongst all these people to be alone on your journey to success. Find someone who is doing what you desire and study their process. Network with as many people as possible. Networking is key, it keeps you connected to resources, knowledge, and provides access to more opportunity.
3) Be Selective
When selecting your winning team, the first prerequisite is to find players who have the desire to win. It is great to have a team who wants to help you win, but what separates the average team from the elites, is their hard work, dedication and commitment. Be selective of who you allow on your team. Surround Yourself around people who want to see you succeed and establish a team of people who want to help you succeed.
4) Have a Plan
Winning teams have winning plays that lead them to the goal of success. What is your winning play? It is important to prepare both your offensive and defensive plays, because your journey to success probably won’t be a wide open shot. You are likely to have people who block, steal, and play foul, but when you are prepared, then the challenges of the game won’t keep you from playing. Identify any obstacles that may stand in your way and have plan to surpass them. It is all about setting yourself up for success.
5) Work Hard
If you want to win in life it is going to take hard work and extraordinary commitment. William A. Ward said, “Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing.” If you want to win in life, you have to wake up with your mind centered around your success and work hard to achieve it.
6) Celebrate Your SuccessÂ
When you work hard, then you can play hard. The journey of success is overwhelming sometimes, so it is important to stay motivated and encouraged along the way. Celebrate every milestone of success and celebrate the moments that you are at your best!
It’s game time! You’ve kept the bench warm long enough, you’ve watched others put in work and now it’s your time to shine. There is still time on the clock, but every second counts. Be strategic in your operation, be selective, work hard toward your success and strive to be your best.
