Though Hip Hop turned 50 years old last month, September has proven to be a historic month for the genre. From the infamous release date of September 29th, 1998 when Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Star, and Jay- Z all dropped, to the competitive Kanye West and 50 Cent battle in 2007, September is special time. Hopefully, this month will prove its worth and we all can bask in audio heaven.

Dreamville Records

Dreamville Records has kicked September off to a good start with several of their artist dropping vignettes. Albeit, I don’t know if there are plans for a Revenge of the Dreamers or if Dreamville has just decided to flood the market with some music for the streets, but no matter what we are happy they have.

JID – BLAKKBOYZ PRESENT

Jid and Lil Yachty have teamed up under the moniker BlakkBoyz with 2 new songs this week “Half Doin Dope,” and “Van Gogh.” After my first listen I was pleasantly surprised by this pairing and I am anxious to see what they may have in store for us in the future, possibly a full length perhaps?

Spillage Village – Die Today

Spillage Village graced us with a new single and visuals for “Die Today.” The duo is expected to be dropping a new album EarthGang vs the Algorithm: RIP Human Art soon and our guess this new single will serve as an appetizer for things to come.

Bas – Ho Chi Minh

Bas has been steady dropping singles here and there for the last year. His latest single “Ho Chi Minh” dropped a few day ago along some previously released singles from earlier this year. Hopefully, this will mean a possible album is on the way from the Dreamville veteran on the roster.

Blxst & Bino Rideaux – Sixtape 3

Blxst and Bino Rideaux have linked up for their third installment of the Sixtape 3. Their new project provide us with some laid back summer vibes just as summer comes to an end. Unfortunately, Sixtape 3 is just 6 tracks but hopefully this should sustain those who are fans of their work.

Jorja Smith – Falling or flying

Jorja Smith is an artist I have been following since her guest appearance on Drake’s More Life “Get It Together.” This led me to learning about the UK singer and listening to her song “On My Mind” which is in constant rotation in my work out playlist. Hard to believe, it has been 5 years since her debut album, lucky for us Smith has stay consistent in the time passing with features on several artist records along with her EP Be Right Back that dropped in 2021.

In anticipation of her new album Jorja Smith has released her latest single “Falling or flying” along with a couple of singles from earlier in the year. Smith will most definitely be an artist you want to keep on your radar from her sultry to upbeat dance tempo her project based on her previous work may be an album of the year contender.

38 Spesh x Conway The Machine – Goodfellas (featuring Benny The Butcher)

38 Spesh and Conway The Machine are working on a collaborative project title Speshal Machinery that is schedule for release next week. Their latest single “Goodfellas” features Benny The Butcher matching bars with the two in their grimey rap fashion.

Enforcer Friday Playlist

Well, I would love to keep chopping it up with you all but I have to go. Don’t forget to listen to my playlist featuring the latest singles from this week. Peace and have a safe holiday weekend.
