How are you all doing this Friday? January usually marks the time of year where people reset, create their vision boards and just try to be better than the last year. Whatever your choice of tea is during this month stay consistent and make realistic goals for yourself.

Okay, enough of the small talk, this week we have new music from Ferguson’s own Keyon Harrold. We also have a new project from Destin Conrad, plus Benny The Butcher’s label has released Elcamino’s new album today, plus we have several new entries to add to the playlist that should sustain you through the rest of the month.

Keyon Harrold – Foreverland

It has been nearly seven years since Keyon Harrold released The Mugician. During that time, Harrold has stayed busy whether it was in studio sessions, touring or recording music. Harrold is one of the premier artist in the music world having recorded for a who’s who of artists ranging from Beyonce and Jay-Z, Maxwell, Big K.R.I.T., Mac Miller, PJ Morton, Gregory Porter, and so on.

Harrold’s latest release Foreverland showcases his range and depth as he has blended jazz, soul, and hip hop all into his latest efforts. Though Harrold is capable of transitioning from one genre to the next, he keeps his jazz base satisfied with his trumpet. Guest features on the album include Common, Robert Glasper, PJ Morton, Malaya, Chris Dave, Jean Baylor, and Laura Mvula. My favorite tracks on the album include “Don’t Lie,” Find Your Peace,” “Pictures,” and the title track “Forever.”

Destin Conrad – Submissive 2

Destin Conrad is an upcoming artist from Tampa, Florida who I came to learn about a few short months ago when he release his visuals for “One Thing,” featuring St. Louis own Jordan Ward. After releasing Submissive in the early fall, the sultry singer has returned for his second installment. Submissive 2 features one lone guest appearance from Alex Isley on “Same Mistake.”

Elcamino & Black Soprano Family – Here You Go

Elcamino has returned with a new album with an assist from his Black Soprano Family title Here You Go. Expect the tradition of hard street raps and grimy beats on Elcamino latest offering,

Sauce Walka – I’m Him (Video)

Houston rapper Sauce Walka has been an artist to watch for quite some time. When Sauce Walka linked up with Conway the Machine and Daringer (producer) for “Dangerous Daringer,” the track got a lot of people excited about the possibility of Sauce Walka doing a collabo with the Griselda/Drumwork family. “I’m Him” is the latest single to materialize which has folks speculating once again, hopefully in 2024 we will get project?
