Meet the NFL.
The NFL obviously doesn’t like black people. When white people cry rivers and rivers of tears about black people standing up for their rights, the NFL passes a policy that proves they are racist while trying to appease their white audience, shareholders and that stupid ass president they hold dear to their hearts.
The NFL is a racist, unsympathetic organization and a POS.
Don’t be like the NFL.
Â
Because the NFL don’t give a fuck about black people, black lives and they for damn sure don’t care about issues concerning black people.
I knew it when outrage sparked regarding the Rams players walking out with their hands up in solidarity of Ferguson. I saw it when they were pissed the players wore the I Can’t Breathe shirts in support of Eric Garner. I said it when the drama surfaced about Colin Kaepernick’s initial protest towards the national anthem—I said it again when they kept passing over him for less qualified players—and I’m saying it now.
Like most people last season, I stood with those who chose to boycott the NFL due to the racism they were exhibiting towards Colin Kaepernick and other players who chose to take a knee. As a football fan, I thought it would be hard to resist the urge to max out on the couch on Sundays, though ironically, it wasn’t. And it felt good. It felt great to be a part of something that was making a difference. It felt good to know in my own way, I was rebelling against the greedy corporation we know as America.
But this is America. This is wypipo’s America.
And like anything in America, all it takes is a tropical storm of white tears to be shed for rules and regulations to be put into place. Forget that black lives are being taken at a drastic rate by the police. Who cares that black people are being harassed and subjected to increased amounts of excessive force & police brutality more and more. Never mind the fact that all of this is being recorded and police officers are still being let off scot free.
Let’s forget all these important factors because the colonizers have found a way to once again reach into their culture vulture bag, hijack another cause, flip it around and make it be about something that has absolutely nothing to do with the original issue at hand—because that’s what they do.
And that’s what they did.
The NFL like any other whitewashed corporation in this country doesn’t give two fucks about black lives any more than they do about the national anthem. They just needed a reason to regain control and put black people back in their places. What happened today and over the last few months is nothing more than their way of saying, “Niggers you don’t run anything—we do.”
They proved it when they failed to stand up for the players after Orange Julius called them “Sons of Bitches.” They proved it when they failed to stand behind Kaepernick and again when they blackballed him from being signed to any team. And if the collusion wasn’t enough proof that they don’t give two shits if one of their players is beat or shot by the police—today was the big “ah ha motherfucker.”
On Wednesday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell and the other slave team owners unanimously approved an anthem policy. Until today, I didn’t even know you could pass a policy that completely goes against the first amendment written in the Constitution.
But pass it is what they did.
The anthem policy states that the NFL requires players to stand if they are on the field during the performance but gives them the option to remain in the locker room if they prefer. The policy goes on to say if players or team personnel do not show respect for the anthem (because this is also written in the constitution—I haven’t found it yet though), they will be fined. This includes, but not limited to, sitting, squatting, kneeling, bending over, legs in an Indian style manner, or anything that doesn’t look like you’re in an upright position with two feet on the ground.
The policy itself is complete BS and is nothing more than another way for them to silence athletes and prevent them from using their platforms for political reasons. After reading it, on one hand it would appear the owners were being generous when they didn’t strip the players of their rights to protest by extending them partial rights to protest in the locker room (because you know they own them and shit so why not give them a little something). While on the other hand, they are stripping them of the same constitutional rights the owners are allotted—which is typical colonizer behavior.
To put it mildly, you can give all the fucks you want in private, but when you step out on Massa’s field, you need to act like a good slave and obey. As far as the NFL is concerned, the players need to leave their black issues in the locker room because their white audience doesn’t care about them being beaten, harassed, falsely accused & arrested, or gunned down by the police.
They don’t give a damn about why you’re out here crying or if you’re being assaulted by the police on your time– you’re costing them money with this little rebellious display. They aren’t interested in the rights of their players because they own them, and they are there for their entertainment and profit. So shut the hell up and be a good slave, straighten up and fly right when you’re on the clock.
Otherwise, we’re going to take back the money we’re paying you. Or end the career that they have granted you to have. Because that’s what slave owners do.
