Music at the Intersection is a civic-led effort presented by the Kranzberg Arts Foundation in partnership with the Steward Family Foundation and The Regional Arts Commission (RAC) of St. Louis. It is a way to celebrate and educate STL about music and culture.
“MATI Places” (Music at the Intersection) and the return of our thought leadership Conference Best of all – all this programming leading up to Music at the Intersection fest weekend is FREE!! Will be taking place Sept 12-15, @ Grand Center Arts District will be a hub of Music, Art, Thought, and Innovation – starting with Music at the Intersection’s new District-wide MATI Places initiative (Sept 12), followed by the return of its free conference for creative professionals (Sept 13) and culminating in a two-day, world-class festival (Sept 14-15). This will be their 3rd annual conference It’s going to be huge featuring places like TURN Restaurant, Hidden Gems, The Dark Room, and more., with a panel full of diverse people such as Big Boss Vette, Amit Dhawan, Candera Thompson, and many more talented people. This includes musicians, entrepreneurs, activists, and community leaders. So, this will be a well-rounded educational panel.
To start the weekend off on a high MATI presents “Kickoff at The Big Top” located at 3401 Washington, It will have live performances including dance music duo DRAMA, and 5 born and raised STL artists Brock Seals, Hazmat, Lani Rose, Matt Jordan, and Tonina. Running September 14-15, Music at the Intersection Festival will feature more than 50 national, regional, and local acts across four stages throughout Grand Center Arts District’s outdoor festival footprint. stretching across Washington Avenue, just east of Grand Blvd Featuring queen of funk Chaka Khan, 5x Grammy-winning jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding, and many more. On Saturday, the gates open at 1 pm and on Sunday at 11 am. Dress in comfortable shoes because both days will be an all-day event. For an all-day pass is $95 dollars for the whole weekend $175.
This is going to be an amazing weekend to be in St. Louis. One of the biggest events with amazing performances and panel chats. Truly it will be one of the most educational and exciting events to attend. Since 2021 MATI has been doing it big, this year will just be another banger. You would not want to miss this!
