I hope everyone is doing great today? We have come towards the close of 2023 and right about now you probably have seen the rollout for the best of 2023. Unfortunately, I haven’t quite got to that place mentally to start those discussion, but it has been an interesting year in music to say the least.
As we move forward in our love for music, my plans for the new year haven’t change, and that is to provide you all with music selections worth checking out. Though we could debate what is worth checking out the goal is to push the appreciation for music forward. With the landscape changing on how we receive music, I will look various opportunities to share my finds, whether it is through playlist or a different mean, I will be opening the doorway.
Conway The Machine – Conductor Machine
As one of the top emcees in the rap game Conway has provided us with dope lyrical wordplay. That is no different on his latest project with producer Conductor Williams, who has worked with the Griselda team for some while and several other artist including Toronto’s very own Drake. This project is a match made in matrimony between Conductor’s production and Conway’s rhyming and offers up more of that sound we love from Buffalo’s finest.
BigXthaPlug – The Biggest
BigXthaPlug has been climbing up the charts, if you recall earlier this year I said that the Dallas rapper was an emerging artist on the rise. This still holds true for BigX as he shows on his latest EP The Biggest that he is versatile with his selection of production, and that grizzly voice that calls for attention when he spits. My favorite
KAYTRANADA – Lover/Friend
Kaytranada has released two new tracks today, “Lover/Friend” featuring Rochelle Jordan, and “Stuntin” featuring Channel Tres. If you are looking for a couple of good tracks to get you up on the dance floor, or moving in the gym these will make great additions to your playlist.
Marsha Ambrosius – The Greatest
Marsha Ambrosius has dropped a new single “The Greatest” produced by Dr. Dre. The song is in anticipation of her new album Casablanca that has a tentative date as of now.
Notable Releases
Jurdan Bryant – Underneath, Ova East
Baltimore native Jurdan Bryant has released a new EP under the Spillage Village
Big Scarr – Frozone
Big Scarr released his new album Frozen which features Gucci Mane, NLE Choppa, OHGEESY, and Foogiano.
