Long, lush, eyelashes are thought to be one of the most feminine accessories belonging on a women’s face. Although eyelashes can be sexy and down right flirty, they serve a greater purpose. Eyelashes serve as an protective function to keep foreign dirt and particles out of the eye like bugs, sand, and dirt.
It is perfectly normal to lose an eye lash here and there; it happens to all of us. Eyelashes can be lost when mascara is applied or when an eyelash curler is used, or they may simply fall out. Generally, a new eye lash will grow back in the hair follicle and replace the fallen one. We all want beautiful eyelashes right? Whether we wear mascara or go au natural, when we notice someone with wonderfully long and thick lashes, and we want them too! Often, however, we forget that lashes are hair, just like what is on top of your head. They too need TLC to be soft, supple, and retain length. Start by making sure you remove all eye makeup at night, especially mascara. If you leave mascara on overnight, it weighs down your natural lashes and could result in lash breakage.
