Someone please call 9-1-1….

Angela Bassett is back, and 2018 just may be her year! In addition to her appearance in Marvel’s Black Panther this February, Bassett will be appearing on the small screen as well. The Golden Globe winner will be playing the lead role of an LAPD police officer in FOX’s newest drama series, 911. The show is said to be a procedural drama that focuses on police, paramedics and firefighters as they try to save lives in shocking and frightening situations. The series also gives us a look into 911 operators and the calls that come through the emergency telephone number.

After previously working together, Director Ryan Murphy has decided to work with the actress once again. The two powerhouses worked together in FX’s American Horror Story, where Bassett appeared in four seasons and earned two Emmy nominations for her work in the popular drama.

Appearing alongside Bassett is Nashville’s leading lady, Connie Britton, who left the show after four in a half seasons and its first season on CMT. The actress will star in the show as a 911 operator. Britton also worked with Murphy on American Horror Story. Peter Krause star of ABC’s The Catch will join the two as a first responder.

The show is slated to be a 13-episode series debuting on FOX this upcoming January. If any of the episodes are as adrenaline pumping as the trailer, we are definitely here for it!
