I expect everyone is staying cool during this heatwave. I’m not talking music, but the extreme weather we have been experiencing. Take measures to stay hydrated and in a cool place so we can continue to talk new music.

Thankfully we are closing out July in a few days so we have one month… fingers crossed, of hot weather. Hopefully, we can add a few solid releases to your rotation to help with the extremities. Plus we have several new singles including Offset and Cardi B’s hot song “Jealousy” added to the playlist.

Travis Scott – Utopia

Travis Scott dropped his new project Utopia, the follow up to Astroworld. Albeit, this is Scott’s fourth studio project, since and The new project features a range of sounds that make the album feel as monumental as the expectations for his latest project. Guest features on the album include Beyonce, SZA, The Weeknd, 21 Savage, Kid Cudi, Swan Lee, James Black, Bad Buy and several others.

Bia – Really Her

2023 is by far, the year of the woman rapper. Bia joins a long list of women who have dropped new projects this year. Really Her is the new EP from the Boston native. The project features several songs that were released earlier this year along with a few new cuts. Guest appearances on the project include Juicy J, Swizz Beats, and Timbaland.

Terrace Martin – Curly

Earlier this year Terrace Martin dad passed away due to failing health. As a tribute to his father Ernest “Curly” Martin passing Terrace Martin assembled Robert Searight (Drums), Cory Henry(Organ), Larry Golding (Organ), Kamasi Washington (tenor sax), Marlon Williams (Guitar), Mic Holden (Percussion), and Nir Felder (Guitar). This is a straight up jazz album that is worth checking out and features one of my new jazz favorites “Valdez of Crenshaw.”
