Hope everyone is feeling good this Friday, it has been a good month of solid music releases. Though I hate seeing another month go off the books, I’m always optimistic for the coming months, especially since a brother will be celebrating his birthday in October. I hope everyone have a good weekend and enjoy the milder months.

Frankco – My Time

Frankco My Time

Frankco is a new and emerging artist on the St. Louis and national music scene. Given the name Franco by his peers because he originally lived in St. Clair, Missouri which resides in Franklin County a hour outside of St. Louis. Franco is definitely and artist to keep on your radar.

I first discovered Frankco when he was featured on Tef Poe’s single “Real Life.” Frankco is a versatile artist who grizzly voice is reminiscent of rap artist like Jezzy, Trae The Truth, and Slim Thug. Similar to those artist Frankco has abilities to write and craft rhymes that will definitely having you rocking back and forth. This is Frankco’s first independent release on Crow Life Records and he looks to makes waves on his debut EP My Time.

Frankco’s new ep is nine tracks and features Gorilla Zoe and Fresco Kane on the charting single “Louie Dance.” Other featured guest on the project include 2KMelly, King Yak, and 25nUp. Besides the lead single for the project my favorite tracks on the project include “Mob Ties,” “12:26 AM, “Respect,” and Pressure’s Off.”

Lil Wayne – Tha Fix Before Tha Vl

Years ago, I remember Lil Wayne running a muck on the mixtape circuit. This is where Wayne made his name on the hip hop/rap scene releasing mixtape after mixtape creating buzz before he would eventually drop The Carter. Fast forward to 2023 and Lil Wayne is back at it with Tha Fix Before Tha Vl. This mixtape is the calm before storm as his fans anticipate The Carter Vl. Notable tracks to check out include “Act Up,” featuring Jon Batiste, “Kat Food,” and “Slip.”

Jorja Smith – falling or flying

A few weeks ago Jorja Smith dropped a single from her album falling or flying. This is the first studio album in five years for the UK singer. The new project shows us that Smith is aiming for new heights as the production shows a multi-faceted of various music styles from pop to edm. For your listening pleasure I suggest you check out “Little Things,” this track reminds me of her song “On My Mind,” along with this you should check out “Feelings,” featuring J Hus, “Lately,” and “falling or flying.”

Cleo Sol – Gold

After releasing Heaven a couple weeks ago, Cleo Sol returns with another full length project titled Gold. This project offers up a folksy and soulful vibe this time around. Upon my first listen, I pleasantly enjoyed this album as it made me want to take a long drive. I suggest you put this on and enjoy the good vibrations from Cleo Sol.
