After SZA released last week TDE double backs with Ab-Soul’s new project, and south central’s G Perico releases his latest project, plus Lil Durk drops a new compilation with his OTF crew. This week will most likely be the last major weekend for major releases so get ready for those end of the year playlist. What artist impacted you the most this year and what artist are you looking forward to hearing from in the new year?

Ab Soul – Herbert

It’s been six years and week to be exact since Ab-Soul released a project. The Carson, Los Angeles emcee is back with his new album Herbert. During that time Ab-Soul has gone through personal problems and has chosen his latest project to share his circumstances with his fans.

Herbert is Ab-Soul’s most intimate project to date and is a solid contender for one of the best albums of the year. Though Soulo takes deep dives into his life, the album provides his listeners with dope lyricism and production from Sounwave, DJ Premier, James Blake, Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, and DJ Dahi. Guest features on the project include Joey Bada$$, Big Sean,  Jhene Aiko, Russ, Ambre, Fre$h,  along with several label mates from TDE including Punch.

G Perico – South Central

G Perico is here with a new mixtape titled South Central. On his latest album G Perico takes us on a journey of South Central, LA and the current sound coming out now. The 12 song project features Casey Veggies, Garren and several others. Tracks you check out on the album include “Express,” “Collective,” and “Upside Down.”

OTF – Loyal Bros 2

Lil Durk and his OTF crew have dropped a new compilation Loyal Bros 2. The project features several members from the OTF including King Von who appears on a posthumous track “We Did It.” Other guest features on the compilation include Future, Kodak Black, BIG30, and Icewear Vezzo.
