Sunday night thousands of concert-goers lined up outside Ballpark village to see R&B vocalist Monica perform. The Press Play Concert Series sponsored by Phil Assets, owner of Liquid Assets Events featured national and up-and-coming artists for this year’s event. Comedian Darius Bradford hosted the event along with Tono da Poet and Mr. 314.

The festivities kicked off at 5:00 pm with 96.3 deejay The Infamous DJ Quinn on the turntables. Performances followed by Destiny and Melody of Love & Marriage: Huntsville, Jay Love, G the Singer, Buddy Luv, and Lydia Caesar. The highlights from these performers came from St. Louis’s very own Buddy Luv and Lydia Caesar who had the crowd bobbing their heads before Monica hit the stage at 9:00pm.

The energy turned up when Monica made her way on stage singing, “Before You Walk Out of My Life”. As fans sang in sync, she followed with several hits including her duet with Brandy’s “The Boy is Mine”. Monica who is not short for words made sure to talk about her status with C- Murder, along with dedicating “Angel of Mine” to her fans who lost loved ones.

Overall, Monica kept the energy high with her honesty and love encouraging her fans to never give up on their dreams. Concluding the show, Monica introduced her new single “Friends” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, while finishing her setup with “So Gone”.
