A Soundtrack Filled With Hip-Hop and R&B Favorites

The festival delivered a lineup designed for fans who grew up on some of the most recognizable records of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Ginuwine, Kyjuan, Paul Wall, Yung Joc, Bubba Sparxxx and St. Louis’ own Murphy Lee were among the artists announced for the festival. DJ Ashton Martin also helped keep the celebration moving throughout the day.

Each performance brought a different part of the era back to life. From Southern hip-hop anthems and smooth R&B favorites to songs deeply connected to St. Louis’ musical history, the lineup gave the audience plenty of opportunities to rap, sing and dance along.

Murphy Lee’s presence added an important hometown element to the event. Seeing a member of St. Louis’ legendary music movement represented alongside nationally recognized artists made the festival feel even more connected to the city.

Flavor Took Center Stage

The music may have drawn the crowd, but the food was an essential part of the experience.

Local food vendors served an assortment of tacos and street eats, giving attendees an opportunity to explore different flavors between performances. Craft margaritas and tequila tastings completed the festival’s food-and-drink theme.

The combination transformed CarShield Field into more than a concert venue. It became a lively destination where food, music and shared memories came together in one place.

More Than a Music Festival

Tacos & Tequila offered several attractions beyond its main stage. The official festival experience included lucha libre wrestling, a Chihuahua Beauty Pageant, an exotic car showcase, art installations and photo opportunities.

These added elements gave guests something new to discover throughout the day and helped create the atmosphere of an oversized throwback party rather than a traditional concert.

The playful mix of live music, culinary experiences and interactive entertainment gave attendees multiple ways to enjoy the festival while reconnecting with the sights and sounds of a memorable era.

Nostalgia remains powerful because music can immediately return listeners to a particular season, memory or milestone. Tacos & Tequila tapped directly into that feeling.
