What’s going on everyone, hopefully you have had a good ending to your work week? As we inch closer to Autumn, I’m looking forward to cooler temperatures, so I can bring out those wool fitted caps I have a love affair for. How about you all, what does this fall weather mean for you besides raking leaves and drinking pumpkin spiced lattes?

I know this week we got Ari Lennox spicing things up with her new album Age/Sex/Location. We also have new projects from Sampa The Great, Black Soprano Family, and Nav.

Ari Lennox – Age/Sex/Location

Last week Ari Lennox gave us a sample of her forthcoming project with the release of her EP Away Message. This week Lennox dropped her highly anticipated sophomore album Age/Sex/Location. The Dreamville songstress looks to build upon her debut with her sultry and seductive stylings that remind me of that late 90’s neo-soul vibe.

Age/Sex/Location is a continuation of all those things we have come to love about Ari Lennox. Her ability to bring us in with seducing songs like “Leak It” that features Chole, which sees both artist unafraid to explore their sexuality for pleasing their lover. Lennox has created her on lane of love making music that you and your special someone will enjoy. Songs worth checking out include the hit single “Pressure”, Boy Bye,” featuring Lucky Daye, “Queen Space,” featuring Summer Walker, “Hoodie,” and “Blocking You”.

Sampa The Great – As Above So Below

Sampa The Great has arrived with her new sophomore album As Above So Below. The Zambian rapper has crafted the melodies of her homeland with pop sounds making her album worth a listen for those who thirst for different soundscapes. It is Sampa’s ability to share her story that has attracted me to her music.

The new project has guest features from Joey Badass, Denzel Curry, Powers Pleasant along with Kojey Radical, Angelique Kidjo, Mwanje, Chef 187, and James Sakala. My favorite tracks on the project include, “Lane,” “Tilibobo,” “Mask On,” and “Bona”.

The album features production from DJ Premier on “Times is Rough” and features the entire Griselda family.
