Halloween is my favorite holiday. Now, I know youāre probably thinking, āHalloween isnāt a holiday,ā and to that I say, the hell if it isnāt. If there are sales, decorations, and profits to made off the day, then dammit itās a holiday.
For as long as I can remember, this was the one day I looked forward to every year. It couldāve been because Iāve always had a wild imagination (reason #1 why Iām a writer), and because it gave you a chance to be throw your regular, probably boring adult life to the side and be a kid again.
For me, Halloween was always a way to channel my creative side and come up with the dopest interpretation of a costume. Now although, I have no qualms about purchasing a costume from the store, my favorite ones were always the costumes my brothers and I tailormade at home because like most folks, my mother didnāt have the extra cash to spend on costumes. Especially, since we were going to discard them a month later.
As I got older, I would wrangle my friends into the whole dressing up and attending parties. Some of them happily went along with my madness, while others pouted about it. Either way, I didnāt care as long as I got to showcase my silliness and display my newest costume idea.
Though I havenāt dressed up the last two years, I have enjoyed watching people on social media portray their version of animated characters, celebrities and even characters in movies and television shows. For whatever reason, Halloween always offers me that opportunity to just laugh at the costumes and creativity people put forth.
Yes, there are some that are ridiculously funny, while others should have just stayed home and tried again. Either way, all of them make me laugh in some way. This year, Iāve rounded up a few of my favorites that made me smile.
Check them out and tell me who was your favorite in the comments below!
