A commitment to help fill the void of Black creators in fashion led T.Moore – a St. Louis native, creative director, and social entrepreneur – to create St. Louis Black Fashion Week, allowing local designers to share their work with the community for the past seven years.

Now celebrating its eighth year, what started off as a passion project for T.Moore has transformed into a brand of legacy, vision, and community development that champions Black culture. The nearly week-long event offers an opportunity to highlight the vision and expand the potential of St. Louis’ diverse fashion and arts communities through a range of happenings.

St. Louis Black Fashion Week 2022

The week kicks off on Nov. 1 with an exclusive dinner sponsored by Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey and will continue throughout the week with other public events, such as panel discussions and a specially curated tour guide experience at the Saint Louis Art Museum, all invested in the exposure, education, empowerment and creative discipline of Black creators and their contributions to the fashion industry and the St. Louis region.

The grand finale event will occur on Nov. 6 with the 8th Annual Suite7™ Fashion Show highlighting seven local designers as they bring their talents to the runway for the most anticipated showing of the year. The designers will include:

Afton Johnson – Young Addy Collection

“Born and raised in St. Louis, here is where I have built my clientele over the last almost two decades and where I plan to continue my teachings for others wanting to pursue the fashion design industry. Designing is my love but teaching design is certainly my purpose because of the influence my instructors and mentors left on me.”

Colin Jones – CMJ Designs x Styles

“I’ve always been the one to stand out from the crowd and really showcase my talent. My newest collection has been so fun creating, it’s a mix between urban & couture for men. I’m really excited to showcase this new collection that I’ve been working on since the start of the new year.”

Jahleel Griffin – The Label 17

“The beauty of art should be respected for it delivers a message to each individual’s eye. To inspire and shed light on the immense value and potential we have as humans, The Label 17 harvests millions of ways to do so.”

Kendra Tunstal – West Novem

“I am a luxury hat designer for men and women with a focus on Fedora styles. My designs are all custom and are the ultimate fashion statement pieces. Each hat is uniquely designed in hand made pieces and the highest quality materials including Rabbit Felt.”

Kisha Kandeh – The Woke Brand

“The WoKE BRAND focuses on bringing a diverse cultural perspective and closing the gaps on many unspoken topics through fashion. The Woke Brand has expanded beyond apparel and now includes eclectic dope artistic showcases and events. Our mission is to show the world diversity, love and peace through poetry, clothing, and events.”

Maare Rashaad – Unforgettable Fittings

“Fashion has always been something special to me therefore when I created my brand I didn’t want just an ordinary brand. I wanted something that would separate my brand from the others. Something that would be Unforgettable which is how I found my name.”

Pierre McCleary – 1026 Styles

“Founder of the Hats Off Alopecia nonprofit organization to bring awareness of Alopecia through the eyes of fashion. As a runway model, I decided to focus on building my 1026 Styles fashion brand with an eclectic and vintage style.”
