If there are two things that guarantee a television series will be awesome, they are: gratuitous violence and gratuitous full frontal nudity. Fortunately Spartacus: Blood and Sand, the Starz network’s 2010 take on the Thracian gladiator who led an historic slave revolt against the Roman Republic from 73 to 71 B.C., had an abundance of both. (And, as we pointed out last year, the women on the show are hot like fire.) Though the second season has been delayed due to lead actor Andy Whitfield‘s battle with cancer and the physical training of his replacement,Liam McIntyre, Starz is whetting our appetite for gore and girls with Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, a six-episode prequel that premieres tonight at 10 p.m. The mini-series explores how gladiators like Crixus (Manu Bennett) and Barca (Antonio Te Maioha) became the notorious champions seen in season one. To honor the gladiators as they honor the masters they fight for, Complex broke down all the season one kills in the gladiatorial arenas to see who was the most badass fighter. We present the Spartacus: Blood and Sand Deadliest Gladiator Index… By Jupiter’s cock, that’s good!
