Hello all, it is the First Friday of April, and I hope you all have had a productive and positive week? Kicking off this month of new music and the second quarter of the year is Toronto artist Daniel Ceasar. Plus, I got two collaborative projects; one from Curren$y and Jermaine Durpri, and Queens rapper Mayhem Lauren has linked up with DJ Muggs and Madlib for some gritty tales.

Daniel Ceasar – Never Enough

Daniel Caesar is back with a new full length project after four years. His new album Never Enough explores his life experiences since his last outing. The falsetto voice crooner has opted for fewer guest appearances with Ty Dolla $ign, Mustafa,Omar Apollo and Serpenwithfeet making appearances.

Never Enough is a smooth vibe and provides us with some good tunes that should take us well into those hot summer months. My favorite tracks on the project include “Buyer’s Remorse,” “Superpowers,” “Do You Like Me,” and “Always”.

Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri – For Motivational Purposes Only

Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri have linked up for an unexpected project For Motivational Purposes Only. The project comes at a time when recently Jermaine Dupri’s relevancy in hip hop has come into question. Whatever your opinion on Dupri’s relevancy you will do yourself a disservice if you do not check this out.

Mozzy – Kollect Kall

Since signing with Yo Gotti’s CMG label, Mozzy has kept his grinding up. Kollect Hall is Mozzy’s newest ep on the CMG label. The project features guest appearances from YFN Lucci, Baby Money, E Mozzy and Celly Ru. My favorite tracks on the project include “Turn Your Back,” and “We Active“.

Mayhem Lauren x DJ Muggs x Madlib – Champagne For Breakfast

For my fans of that gritty New York hip hop I present to you Mayhem Lauren. The Queens emcee has been on the hip hop scene eating on the underground for the last several years. Lauren provides those gritty raps backed by two iconic west coast producers DJ Muggs and Madlib who are no strangers to lyricist. Standout tracks on the project include “Fresh Out The Water,” Szechuan Capital,” and “African Pompano”.
