The Met Gala is considered fashion’s biggest night, and this year’s certainly didn’t disappoint. The star-studded party raises millions for the Met’s Anna Wintour Costume Center. The event was held on Monday, May 4. This year’s theme was based on the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s most recent exhibit “China: Through the Looking Glass.”

Beyonce was fierce in her custom Givenchy Couture gown.

Solange Knowles wore a painterly Giles Fall 2015 fan-shaped frock.

Rihanna rocked a fabulous yellow fur-trimmed cape by Chinese designer Guo Pei. The coat had a train that had to be carried by four people. According to Vanity Fair, the cape took two years to make.

Sarah Jessica Parker dressed in a custom H&M one-shoulder gown with a fiery headpiece by Philip Treacy.

Kerry Washington did not make many “Best Dressed” lists.  It’s not her best look but this  looks exquisite from the back.

Katie Holmes wore a shimmery, midnight blue frock by Zac Posen.

Tabitha Simmons also took it a little too far, but it is a costume ball after all.  She wore a gold Dolce & Gabbana get-up complete with a sculptural, gilded headdress.

Karen Elson also sported a Dolce & Gabbana gown with a bejeweled, spiky golden Dolce crown .

Zendaya topped her May 4 Met Gala look with a  silver and gold tiara that matched the sun motif emblazoned on her black and red Fausto Puglisi dress.

Kim Kardashian West stunned in this number by Peter Dundas of Roberto Cavalli to design her a sheer, almost-nude silk tulle gown embroidered with sequin, crystals, and ostrich plumes.

Janelle Monae designed her entire ensemble with H&M.

Jennifer Lopez made jaws drop in a sheer ruby one-shoulder Atelier Versace creation that hugged her every curve, revealing some of her best assets.

Rita Ora wore a custom Tom Ford red satin dress with a high collar.

Lady Gaga donned a custom Balenciaga design which included a floor-length, latticed kimono that was woven through with black feathers.

Karolina Kurkova was on point in a red custom Tommy Hilfiger dress.
