Ok so look,

Right now- text your moms and ask her where she was last Friday.

If she takes too long to text back, it was probably her behind me at the Jon B and Silk concert at Ballpark Village yelling, “Jon you know you’re my boyfriend right?”

Even if she texts back quickly, it was probably because she was staring her favorite Silk member dead in their eyes, willing to risk it all.

And for good reason, too.

Silk’s vocals and style are still so on point. They were still moving and grooving like it was ’92 and they were ready to go half on a baby. Since the release of ” Meeting in my Bedroom”, the Atlanta based group has undergone quite a bit of transition, hiatuses, and everyday life changes.

But to see them reunited on the stage brought joy to my heart. I even found myself thinking, ” I wonder if I was made to this song? Is that a weird question?”

Silk was so smooth they had me questioning myself and my parents. And I loved every moment.

Jon B, (who once told Vibe magazine in 1998)

“I am also attracted to really ghetto girls, straight out the hood…a thicky, a real ‘pass the hot sauce’ type girl.”

Well, Jon still had all the pre-Robin Thicke sauce and seemed to also have a great time on stage. It was great to see both acts still traveling, making music and performing- doing what they love best.

Jon B visited some old jams of his and even stated that he had a new album coming out soon.  He laughed and said, ” I don’t know when. Just soon.”

Til next time,
