Whether you are familiar with Dude’s music or not it bears repeating that Devin the Dude is a highly respected OG rap artist whose career spans decades. Dude started out as a member of the Houston rap group, Odd Squad (J Mugg and Rob Quest) and later Facemob under Rap-A-Lot Records. Encouraged by rap legend Scarface and with the blessing of his Odd Squad group he went solo, releasing his first album in 1998 entitled, The Dude.

Devin the Dude, is your favorite rap artists favorite rap artist. In 2002 PrefixMag’s, Rafeal Martinez called, Dude,  “Rap’s best-kept secret”. Dude has been critically acclaimed his entire career, and his music often revolves around things you could relate to or picture in your mind, such as relationships, everyday struggles, and the highs and lows of life.
