ST. LOUIS — One of the region’s most anticipated cultural celebrations is set to return to downtown St. Louis this summer as the Official 7th Annual St. Louis Juneteenth Festival Block Party takes over Washington Avenue on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Hosted by House of Soul STL, the festival has grown from a grassroots community gathering into a citywide celebration that attracts thousands of attendees from across the St. Louis region. Recognized by the City of St. Louis as the Official Juneteenth Celebration and named one of the St. Louis American’s Top 25 Events of 2025, this year’s festival promises to be bigger, more engaging, and more impactful than ever before.
The free event will span several blocks of Washington Avenue, transforming downtown into a vibrant hub of music, culture, entrepreneurship, art, family activities, and community engagement.
Last year’s celebration welcomed more than 5,000 attendees, and organizers expect an even larger turnout in 2026 as expanded programming and new activations are introduced throughout the day.
A Celebration Rooted in History and Community

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Today, Juneteenth serves as a celebration of freedom, resilience, achievement, and the continued pursuit of equity and opportunity.
The St. Louis Juneteenth Festival honors that legacy while creating space for community members, entrepreneurs, artists, and organizations to connect, celebrate, and inspire future generations.
What makes the festival unique is its ability to bring together multiple aspects of Black culture and community life into one immersive experience. From live performances and fashion showcases to educational resources and local businesses, attendees can experience the richness and diversity of the St. Louis community throughout the day.
What to Expect at the Festival
Festival-goers can look forward to a full day of entertainment, engagement, and cultural experiences, including:
- Live music performances
- DJs and entertainment throughout the day
- Fashion shows and cultural showcases
- Black-owned businesses and vendors
- Local food vendors and culinary experiences
- Community organizations and resource partners
- Family activities and an expanded Kids Zone
- Influencers, creatives, and community leaders
- Interactive activations and giveaways
The event serves as both a celebration and an economic opportunity, providing visibility and support for local entrepreneurs, artists, and small businesses.
Supporting Black-Owned Businesses and Local Creatives

One of the festival’s strongest components continues to be its emphasis on economic empowerment. Hundreds of attendees are expected to shop with local vendors, discover emerging brands, and connect directly with Black-owned businesses operating throughout the region.
The festival also creates opportunities for artists, performers, designers, and creatives to showcase their talents before a large and diverse audience.
By highlighting entrepreneurship and innovation alongside cultural celebration, organizers continue to reinforce the importance of investing in local communities and supporting businesses that contribute to the economic growth of the region.
A Family-Friendly Experience for All Ages
Families will find plenty to enjoy throughout the day with expanded children’s programming, interactive activities, educational experiences, and entertainment designed for all ages.
The festival’s family-friendly atmosphere has become one of its defining features, making it a destination event for residents and visitors alike.
Whether attendees come for the music, the food, the fashion, the vendors, or simply to celebrate with the community, organizers have designed the experience to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible.
