A Lineup That Spans Generations of Hip-Hop

From platinum-selling albums to club anthems and Midwest classics, this lineup brings together four artists whose music helped define the sound of the 2000s.

Rick Ross continues to be one of hip-hop’s most recognizable names. Since breaking through with “Hustlin’” in 2006, the Grammy-nominated rapper has built an impressive catalog that includes Port of MiamiTeflon DonGod Forgives, I Don’t, and Richer Than I Ever Been. Beyond music, Ross has become known as an entrepreneur with successful ventures in real estate, food franchises, and business investments.

Rick Ross—born William Leonard Roberts II—is far more than a music legend. He’s a Grammy-nominated rapper, empire builder, luxury tastemaker, community leader, and cultural powerhouse whose vision has helped shape hip-hop’s evolution over the last two decades. From his deep baritone to his commanding presence in music and business, Ross has become one of the most influential multi-hyphenates of his generation.

Ross exploded onto the scene in 2006 with his breakout hit “Hustlin’”, which went platinum before he even had a major record deal. He followed with a string of critically acclaimed albums including Port of MiamiTrillaDeeper Than RapTeflon DonGod Forgives, I Don’t, and Richer Than I Ever Been. His catalog is both sonically lush and lyrically vivid, built on themes of power, perseverance, and wealth.

Over the span of his career, Rick Ross has earned ten Grammy nominations, collaborated with the biggest names in music—Jay-Z, DJ Khaled, John Legend, The Weekend, French Montana, Lil Wayne, Nas, and many others—and has consistently landed at the top of Billboard charts, cementing his status as one of rap’s true heavyweights.

From platinum records to real estate holdings, from food franchises to premium brand partnerships, Rick Ross has built a sprawling empire rooted in hustle, excellence, and vision. He is not only a hip-hop icon but also a blueprint for modern Black entrepreneurship.

Whether he’s on stage, in the boardroom, or hosting tens of thousands at his estate for his car show, Rick Ross continues to expand his legacy—bold, unfiltered, and unforgettable.

Joining him are the Ying Yang Twins, whose high-energy hits including “Salt Shaker,” “Wait (The Whisper Song),” and “Get Low” became staples in clubs and arenas across the country. The Atlanta duo continues to perform for audiences nationwide more than two decades after their breakthrough.

Ying Yang Twins, comprised of members D-Roc and Kaine, debuted in 1996 with the single “Whistle While You Twurk”, which was played on urban and pop radio stations and peaked at #17 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Their full-length debut album, Thug Walkin’, came out later that year. Their next album, Alley: The Return of the Ying Yang Twins, appeared in 2002. The same year, the group appeared on the double platinum selling album Kings of Crunk by Lil Jon & the Eastside Boyz on the single “Get Low”, and the song was a huge club and radio hit.

Their album, Me & My Brother, was certified platinum on April 12, 2005, and yielded three more hits — “Whats Happnin!”, “Naggin’” and the popular Lil Jon collaboration “Salt Shaker”. The same year the duo appeared on Britney Spears’ album In the Zone singing the song “I Got That (Boom Boom)” and her television special of the same name. My Brother & Me, an album composed largely of remixes, was released in 2004. The album U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta) went platinum with its singles “Wait (The Whisper Song)”, “Badd”, and “Shake” were dominating popular music and rap radio stations. It was followed by U.S.A. (Still United), a collection of outtakes, remixes, and collaborations similar to My Brother & Me.

The group’s fifth album Chemically Imbalanced was released in November 2006. The first two singles were the Hall & Oates-sampling “Dangerous”, featuring Wyclef Jean, and “Jigglin’”. In 2008, the Twins released the mixtape The Official Work and a promo single titled “Drop”. In 2009, the Twins released their album with Deep Records, Ying Yang Forever, and started a tour titled “Ying Yang Forever Tour”. Their song “Halftime (Stand Up and Get Crunk)” is now a standard in many NFL football stadiums, and is considered to be the unofficial anthem of the New Orleans Saints during their Super Bowl victory season, even though it has been a staple at Saints games since 2006. This song was performed live during the victory parade. The song has also been used in NFL Street 2 and Madden NFL 11 as well as the Opening Tip at home games for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs throughout the majority of the 2000s.

Today, the Ying Yang Twins continue to tour entertaining sold out audiences across the world.

Chicago legend Twista also joins the bill. Known worldwide for his lightning-fast delivery and lyrical precision, Twista has remained one of hip-hop’s most respected lyricists, with classics like “Slow Jamz,” “Overnight Celebrity,” and “Wetter” helping cement his legacy.

Life’s best surprises often come from unlikely places. Twista knows this better than most. The pioneering platinum rapper put Chicago on the rap map and made the double-time rap style a rap staple. Despite selling millions of albums and popularizing a delivery incorporated by everyone from Jay-Z to Eminem, the Windy City rapper remains largely unheralded by the uninformed.

From the first time Twista rapped, people wanted to hear him do this. He broke through in the early 1990s as Tung Twista, earning acclaim as the fastest rapper in the world, even holding the Guinness World Record title for the distinction. But it would take a while for people to catch up to Twista’s trailblazing rap abilities. When he reemerged in 1996 with Do Or Die on the landmark “Po Pimp” single, the rechristened Twista amazed fans and critics alike with his remarkably smooth rapid-fire raps. Twista then became a rap king with the release of Adrenaline Rush, his 1997 album. The Collection’s mind-bending vocal performances, terrific storytelling and supreme lyricism placed Twista among rap’s premier artists.

Twista became even more popular in 2003 and 2004 when he teamed with fellow Chicagoan Kanye West and Jamie Foxx for the smash single “Slow Jamz.” Twista’s 2004 album, Kamikaze, earned him his first Multi platinum plaque. Since then, Twista has remained one of rap’s premier practitioners and in-demand collaborators. He’s appeared on albums from Mariah Carey, Pitbull, Lady Gaga, Usher and Jay-Z, among others, and released a string of albums and mixtapes. Since then, Twista released a string of successful singles, highlighted 2009’s gold single “Wetter,” as well as 2013 single “Make a Movie” featuring Chris Brown.

But for Twista, it all comes down to the music. It’s the reason he’s remained one of rap’s top talents for two decades.

Murphy Lee Brings St. Louis Pride to the Stage

For St. Louis fans, the night carries even more significance as Murphy Lee returns to perform on one of Missouri’s biggest stages.

A founding member of the St. Lunatics, Murphy Lee helped put St. Louis hip-hop on the national map alongside Nelly. His debut album Murphy’s Law and the Grammy-winning hit “Shake Ya Tailfeather” remain fan favorites, while collaborations like “Air Force Ones” and “Welcome to Atlanta (Remix)” continue to showcase his impact on hip-hop culture.

Murphy Lee, an accomplished American rapper, rose to prominence as a key member of the St. Louis-based hip hop group, St. Lunatics. His career took off in the early 2000s, coinciding with the commercial success of fellow group member Nelly. Lee’s unique style and lyrical prowess contributed significantly to the group’s dynamic, helping to establish their presence in the hip hop scene. His collaboration on Nelly’s hit singles, including ‘Batter Up’ and ‘Air Force Ones,’ showcased his talent and solidified his reputation as a formidable artist.

In 2003, Murphy Lee launched his solo career with the release of his debut studio album, “Murphy’s Law,” under Derrty Entertainment, an imprint of Universal Records. The album achieved remarkable success, peaking at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart. It featured the chart-topping single ‘Shake Your Tailfeather,’ a collaboration with Nelly and P. Diddy, which became a cultural phenomenon and was included in the soundtrack for the blockbuster film “Bad Boys II.”

Throughout his career, Lee has been a sought-after collaborator, contributing to numerous tracks across various genres. His guest appearances on songs like ‘Welcome to Atlanta (Remix)’ with Ludacris and ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ with Kanye West highlight his versatility and ability to blend seamlessly with other artists. His work has not only enriched his discography but has also left a lasting impact on the hip hop community.

In addition to his solo and collaborative efforts, Murphy Lee has released several mixtapes, including “My Name Is Lee” and “The Return of SuperMan BigLee,” further showcasing his creativity and dedication to his craft. With a career marked by significant achievements and a commitment to innovation, Murphy Lee continues to be a prominent figure in the music industry, inspiring both fans and aspiring artists alike.
