Across the country, conversations about maternal health are evolving—and Dads To Doulas is helping lead that shift by placing fathers at the center of the solution.

The initiative is built on a powerful belief: when fathers are informed, engaged, and empowered, families experience stronger health outcomes during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

Dads To Doulas works to equip fathers with the knowledge and confidence needed to actively support maternal and infant health. Through education, workshops, and community-based training, the program provides men with practical tools to advocate for their partners, support their families, and navigate the pregnancy journey with intention.

A Major Goal for 2026

As the program continues to grow, one of its key goals for 2026 is reaching 1,000 touch points. These touch points will happen through:

  • Community workshops
  • Father-focused trainings
  • Educational programs
  • Community conversations
  • Strategic partnerships with organizations and healthcare systems

Each of these efforts is designed to ensure that more fathers have access to the information and resources needed to show up for their families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Expanding Across the United States

Dads To Doulas has already made an impact across 43 states, and the next phase of growth focuses on expanding into the remaining states to reach fathers and families nationwide.

This expansion is made possible through partnerships with:

  • Healthcare systems
  • Community organizations
  • Maternal health advocates
  • Local leaders and educators

These collaborations are critical because they help keep the program free for fathers, removing financial barriers while allowing the program to continue growing its impact.

Why Fathers Matter in Maternal Health

Historically, national conversations around maternal health have rarely centered fathers. Dads To Doulas is working to change that narrative by recognizing fathers as essential partners in care and advocacy.

When fathers are informed and involved, they can:

  • Advocate for their partner’s healthcare needs
  • Recognize warning signs during pregnancy and postpartum
  • Provide emotional and physical support during labor and recovery
  • Strengthen the overall support system for mothers and babies

By equipping fathers with education and confidence, the program strengthens the entire ecosystem of care around families.

How Communities Can Get Involved

Community involvement plays a vital role in the continued growth of Dads To Doulas.

Families, organizations, and community leaders can help expand the impact by:

  • Encouraging fathers to participate in workshops or the six-week training program
  • Inviting Dads To Doulas to partner with local organizations
  • Creating welcoming spaces for men to engage in maternal health conversations
  • Sharing information about the program within their networks

When communities invest in fathers as part of the solution, they help build stronger support systems for Black mothers, babies, and families.

A Growing National Movement

The mission of Dads To Doulas goes beyond awareness—it is about creating lasting change. As the program continues expanding across the country, its focus remains clear: educating, empowering, and equipping fathers to play an active role in improving maternal and infant health outcomes.

With continued partnerships, community engagement, and education, Dads To Doulas is building a movement that recognizes fathers as powerful advocates for healthier families.
