Welcome back, I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer as today is the last day of the season. The warmer weather is great in all, but this year was one for the records. Personally, I love the fall because of the milder weather, fall foliage, plus all the great music we tend to get around this time of year.

This week music selections I have decided to go with a few artist you may or may not have heard of as I am exploring the depth of my musical palette. Don’t worry though, I will definitely have some household names added to the playlist this week, which includes new songs from Doechii, Brent Faiyaz, SZA, and. more.

Doja Cat – Scarlet

Doja Cat has returned with her new album Scarlet. Opting for less singing and pop appeal, Doja Cat has focused her artistry on rapping. The 17 track album list no guest features at the time, but that doesn’t mean we will not see any on the deluxe edition? Whether you are fan of Doja Cat or not her new album will definitely grab attention from her fans and naysayers. Notable songs worth ,

EARTHGANG – RIP Human Art

EARTHGANG released their new EP RIP HUMAN ART. The five track project features the previous released “Die Today,” and “Bobby Boucher”.guest appearances from Spillage Village, and Benji. Their new music was inspired by their art exhibit of the same name, was on display at High Line Hotel in New York in collaboration with AFROPUNK.

Nick Grant – Sunday Dinner

South Carolina native Nick Grant dropped his latest project Sunday Dinner. Inspired by his grandmother, Sunday Dinner is Grant’s most intimate project since his arrival on the rap scene in 2016. This project tells his story of his life growing up in South Carolina. Grant’s new album serves up soulful beats backed by his lyricism that make for solid all-around album. My favorite stand out tracks on the project include “Worrying’ Bout A Classic,” Know Your Worth/Grandma Said,” “Since Elementary, “Heaven,” and “Art Dealer” featuring Ransom.

Little Brother – Wish Me Well/Glory Glory

Earlier this week, Little Brother reunited for two new songs “Wish Me Well,” and “Glory Glory.” Hopefully these tracks will lead us to a new Little Brother album? In the meantime, let us count our blessings and be thankful for this small vignette and don’t forget to watch the visuals for “Wish Me Well” below.

Mike x Wiki x The Alchemist – Faith is A Rock

New York emcees Mike and Wiki have teamed up with The Alchemist for their new project Faith is A Rock. This collaboration feels like a throwback to 90’s boom bap with The Alchemist on the production and Mike and Wiki delivering that gritty New York rap. Tracks you should check out on the project include “Mayors A Cop,” “Be Realistic,” and “One More.”

Bakar – Halo

Maybe I’m late to the party on Bakar, the 29 year old singer from Camden, London who featured Summer Walker on his viral hit “Hell N Back.” Bakar’s music style ranges from indie, rock, rap and punk and offers a sonic sound that I think you will find catchy and appealing. Notable songs you should listen to on the project inclu

Amindi – Take What You Need

From Inglewood, California is up and coming artist Amindi. The daughter of Jamaican immigrants Amindi’s break came with her dancehall inspired song “Pine & Ginger.” Her latest project Take What You Need is mixtape of songs she has been working on for the last few years. The project features St. Louis’s Jordan Ward on “bake,” other features on her project include Kenny Mason “Pocket,” Chlothegod “lady, Franny London “Nightmare,” Jean Carter “big boss, and Free on “so much better.”

Butcher Brown -Eye Never Knew feat. Pink Siifu, and Keyon Harrold

As Butcher Brown likes to describe their music, it’s “solar music.” The group has been carving their own lane for some time in the music world blending jazz, hip hop and soul together for a pot of good music worth checking out. Their latest single “Eye Never Knew” features Pink Siifu, and Keyon Harrold. Their new album Solar Music is set to release on October 6th.
