December is here and looking back on 2021 this has been an extremely good year for music. Whether you are a fan of the pop charts or like to dive deep into the music sphere, there is a laundry list of artists who have put out dope projects. My only question to you all would be which ones are you taking with you on a remote island?

It is also time for those best-of lists and heated conversations for who had the best album. I would like to say that I am far removed from the debates, but I’d be lying. As a music connoisseur, this is the perfect time to reevaluate releases and enjoy the music that has been the soundtrack to memorable moments in 2021.

Katarra Parson – Loathe a Rose

St. Louis rising artist Katarra Parson released a new song a couple of days ago “Loathe A Rose”. As Parson’s puts it, “This is an epic that tells the journey of my truth. This is more than a trend, this is more than a scorned lover song, this is more than a ‘bop’ this is a rage against the machine.” Parsons’ is an artist to watch and one of the shining talents in the St. Louis region.

Cordae – Sinister

Over the last few months, Cordae has been revving up for a new album. His latest single “Sinister” which features Lil Wayne and production from Hit Boy comes ahead of his much-anticipated album Birds Eye View. There is no date for when his sophomore release may drop but let’s hope in the next few weeks to a month we will be getting that project. Check out the new video here Sinister

SZA – I Hate U.

I Hate U - Single by SZA | Spotify

Earlier this year SZA released, “I Hate U” on her Sound Cloud page. I know you all thought like me that an album was on the way, but was disappointed that one didn’t drop. Well SZA and TDE have decided to at least release the single to all streaming sites which is a sign of good news. We really just want the new project but this will do for now.

BLXST – About You

After releasing numerous songs with artists this past year Blxst has officially dropped his first solo song of the year. “About You” is a 90’s vibe that samples Case and Joe’s “Faded Pictures”. We can’t wait to see what Blxst will be offering in the year to come.
