Andre Holman started his media career as an intern at STL TV, a prominent TV station in St. Louis providing exclusive programming across the region. He has worked with the station for more than 30 years and currently serves as the station manager.

Under his leadership, he and his staff have worked hard to produce quality television programs to promote positive initiatives, new businesses, and neighborhood developments in the city. He has trained over 700 interns and transformed what was once a local government access channel into a media powerhouse. Holman rebranded and reformed the station’s identity, brought numerous well-known local media personalities and hosts on board, and helped the station earn three regional Emmy Awards.

Launching AH! TV Network

Now, he’s gathering those same professionals who went off to work in the TV/film industry, and partnering with other content developers from across the country, to establish his own live-streaming network, AH! Television.

“Prior to COVID, I was already thinking about what I wanted to do next in my career,” said Holman. “I wanted to create a network that could have an impact on people’s lives. The term “AH!” really references a point when someone has a clear understanding of something that they hadn’t figured out before. I love for people to be enlightened, inspired and to have a different perspective on things. We all need that moment of understanding in our lives. This network will have a little bit of everything.”

The AH! TV network launched in August 2021. Holman hosted a small ceremony at Outreach Studios in Richmond Heights and on Facebook Live to make the announcement.

His network brings together St. Louis natives locally and across the country in cities including Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York to provide programming focused on entertainment, sports, fitness, spirituality, fashion, and a range of talk shows.

“What we see and hear impacts us in some way. If we can focus on putting out positive content across the country on important topics and issues facing our community, I’ll be really excited on how I end my career away from STL TV,” said Holman. “Although this network is a big umbrella of content, we will be branching off to offer channels that are direct markets for certain genres.”

Upcoming Channel

One channel slated to launch in February this year is UPonstage TV. From music and dance to comedy and theater, UPonstage will provide viewers backstage access to aspiring talent and seasoned entertainers alike.

The Importance of Telling Our Own Stories

Holman is also preparing to produce a docu-series on the Walnut Park neighborhood of North St. Louis. A place where he shares many memories from his childhood.

“My family moved there in 1968 and it was a thriving community,” Holman said. “When you look at the neighborhood now, you see what has happened over the years from neglect and crime. But we cannot forget history. We need to tell these stories.”

Holman is grateful for his experience and career development at STL TV and is now ready to oversee his own platform.

The AH! TV Network is currently available on Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV and Facebook. They are also working on launching the mobile app in the Apple Store and Google Play.
