It looks like Kendrick Lamar is stepping into the world of fashion. And he couldn’t have picked a better night to release his newest business venture. With thousands of music lovers anticipated to tune into the 2018 Grammys, Lamar will be dropping his custom Nike Cortez sneakers.
The Damn MC is one of the top nominated artists this year. Coming in one nomination short of being tied with Jay-Z and Bruno Mars, the rapper received seven nominations in categories: album of the year, record of the year, best rap album, best rap song, best rap performance, best music video and best rap/sung collaboration.
Earlier this year, Lamar collaborated with Reebok. His partnership with Nike was announced on Instagram when he revealed the sneaker with Asian characters and “Don’t Trip” written on it.
The sneaker will be priced at $100 and will be available for purchase in January through the Nike sneaker app.
