Hip Hop rapper, Kendrick Lamar will be putting his producing skills to the test. Lamar has been chosen to curate and produce the soundtrack to Marvel’s highly-anticipated, Black Panther.
According to the comic empire, the Grammy Award-winning artist will produce “Black Panther: The Album,” along with award-winning Anthony Tiffith. The album will feature the lead single, All the Stars, featuring Lamar and five-time Grammy nominee, SZA.
The Compton native is excited to work with Marvel Studios and filmmaker Ryan Coogler on the project, which is said to contain a collection of original songs.
Lamar stated,” Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.”
This album will be the rapper’s first-time producing a soundtrack. The soundtrack will be available for preorder on iTunes beginning Feb 9. The film is scheduled to hit theaters Feb 16.
