Yes! It's Friday!

It’s that time again…It’s time for a new edition of Delux magazine’s Weekend Watch!  So prepare your schedule by reading on to discover what pleasurable events around town made our formulated list of things to do during the approaching weekend.

Prepare for a performance unlike any other that you have seen at the Pageant!  On Friday, January 30, the Pageant will welcome the legendary contemporary dance company Big Muddy Dance Company as they present: Wit, Grit, and Grace.

Big Muddy

Wit, Grit, and Grace will be the central point for several premieres, including a world premiere by the talented Thom Dancy.  Click here to order your tickets to a performance that is guaranteed to dance its way into your heart.

And here is an event that you DEFINITELY do not want to miss!  On Saturday, January 31, the annual and well-known Slumfest Hip Hop Awards will take place at 8 p.m. at the Cherokee Performing Arts Center (due to the unfortunate closing of Plush earlier this month; R.I.P.).

The Slumfest Awards will allocate awards to some of the area’s best in underground music and will also feature live performances by various local musicians and artists between award nominations.  Nominees for this year’s Slumfest Awards include: Darren Jackson, DJ Sir Thurl, Tef Poe, Bo Dean, and Riley B.  For a list of this year’s nominees and for more information about the Slumfest Awards, click here.

Make sure to arrive early! Even though the show begins at 9 p.m., the doors open will open at 8 p.m.  All ages are welcome; there is a $10 charge at the door.

Get ready, get set, and go be a part of the St. Louis Running Tour! Enjoy this two-for-one-deal: explore St. Louis on a guided tour while getting fit! (What a great way to begin the New Year!)  Registration for the 8 a.m. winter tour begins Sunday, February 1, and cost of registration ranges from $25-$35.  The meeting point will be at Chestnut Street and North Broadway and Market, near the runner statue.  For more information on how to run your Sunday and to view the tour map, click here.
