Bang & Olufsen introduce their latest design to the marketplace, the Beo6 Wi-Fi Remote Control. The Beo6 remote control is like your house key. Your key is cut just for your front door, and suits its purpose exactly. It works as an extension of your hand; not something you have to think about. The unique Beo6 unlocks exactly your mix of audio and video equipment, whether it is a single BeoVision 7 or a full link system. The same Beo6 can be as simple as you want and as flexible as you need. The square glass display with soft touch keys and the aluminium ball with tactile keys and a volume wheel are inspired by contradictions – the circle and the square, giving Beo6 an unusual visual expression. A more thorough breakdown of the design is available here.

I like the design of Beo6 very much, however I would say that Bang & Olfusen are overselling the product a little bit. There have been many attempts to unify all the remote controls in the house before and all crushed on one thing. They were way too complicated and they did not match the laziness of the consumers. Another downside of Beo6 is how big it is, I do not find it practical enough, always searching for it in the kitchen when I’ve already left it in the living room.
