There have only been a few times I have become ecstatic over a concert. When Sade came to town and even Stevie Wonder. I was even ready to sell an organ had the Purple One graced any stage in St. Louis. These days, most new artists don’t excite me like the older ones used to. Therefore, spending money on a concert seems like a waste.
However, after yesterday, it seems like my musical prayers have been answered. If you are wondering what I’m referring to, I am speaking of the R&B goddess, Miss Anita Baker.
Early Monday morning, the singer took to her Twitter page to announce in 2018 she would be turning the big 6-0, and will be celebrating 30-years in the music industry. In lieu of these milestones, she stated she was retiring from the music world. To end her retirement on a good note, she will be doing a farewell concert series starting in March.
No concert dates, ticket pricing, or locations have been announced yet. Though, we do know there couldn’t be a more perfect way for Anita Baker to ring in 2018, and say goodbye to a phenomenal career.
