It’s finally happening. Fans have been waiting for a new Weezy album for quite some time now. With all the legal disputes between the rapper and his former label mate, Birdman, fans weren’t sure when they’d ever get new music from him. Though it seems, this Christmas all wishes will be granted as Lil Wayne announces his mixtape album, Dedication 6 release date.
It’s been over four years since Weezy has released a Dedication mixtape. His last installment, Dedication 5, was released in 2013. The cover is an illustrated black, white, and red drawing of Wezzy, tattoos exposed in a jacket with the Carter V and Young Money monograms.
According to Lil Wayne’s manager, DatPiff who confirmed the news, the album is scheduled to be released on December 25th! Although no information regarding the tracklist, or features have been released, the rapper took to social media to inform fans to sign up for album updates.
“It’s time,” he wrote. “Sign up for updates and music before drop date! To My fans, I do this for y’all! #D6 MERRY CHRISTMAS.”
Last year, Wayne stated a new project would be on the way. “I’ve also been working on some crazy shit for a mixtape and we just didn’t have a good name for it yet,” he told fans. “But it might as well just be a Dedication.”
Even though Dedication 6 is being released, The Carter V remains in limbo. The rapper stated the album will not be released until his legal dispute with Cash Money is settled. Oh well, fans will have to be happy with the mixtape until the label quarrel has been resolved.
