Salon 94 once again presents New York artist Marilyn Minter’s solo exhibition. Known by many art enthusiasts, Minter’s work has been shown at an international level and garnered quite a loyal fan base. The exhibition that took two years in the making show her evolution as a fine artist. The Painting Mercury is seen to be the marquee piece in her exhibition. It is essentially a portrayal of a gargantuan baby splashing through silver paint that was created through an intricate patchwork of negative scans. The 10-foot-tall painting shines in shimmering silver and dark tones of translucent enamel paint, layered over and over. On show from October 28 until December 4, 2011, her work can now be viewed at Salon 94 Bowery.
