SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AFP) – Defensive specialist Bruce Bowen has retired after a dozen National Basketball Association seasons.
The 38-year-old American was selected to the all-defensive first team five times while playing for the Spurs from 2003-08, also winning three championships with San Antonio in his eight-year stint there.
San Antonio traded Bowen to Milwaukee in the offseason as part of a three-team deal that saw forward Richard Jefferson go to the Spurs.
