Who is Charity Shea?

Interview by Tiffany S Nashville @icyhot_82

Formerly on The Best Years, a series created by the producer and writer of Degrassi: The Next Generation, Charity Shea has gone from teenage television to Single Ladies.  Her character, April, is working to prove herself after a failed marriage. While hanging out with friends Val (Stacey Dash) and Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy), the show sheds light on the feelings shared by the women as far as their philosophy on sex and relationships.  According to Vh1.com, “Single Ladies is a modern, sexy series set in the world of Atlanta fashion, music, and celebrity that will constantly explore which woman has the right approach to relationships.”

Colorado native, Charity Shea, has enjoyed this first season with the series.  “When finding a character, you have to find similarities within yourself.  I always try to relate with my character.  Overall, April has a big heart and cares a lot about people.  I think that she’s kind of feisty and spunky.”

In every line of work there are challenges and obstacles.  Something Charity can really relate to is the way April is working to reinvent herself.  “She moved in with her ex husband at a very young age and her life was more about what he wanted it to be.  She realized she didn’t know who she was and is finding out who she is.  I have had to figure out who I am and there have been times I’ve reinvented myself especially being in this industry.  There are a lot of expectations of you as an actress.”

Continue to keep up with April, Val, and Keisha on the hot new series from Vh1.  And fans, don’t worry, there are talks of a second season!
