Tastebuds are not created the same, and for that reason I tend to shy away from establishments marketed as “Creole” or Cajun”. My taste buds are weak to hot food. But this visit was not my first time dining at Café de LáSha. Those of us who are spicy-intolerant can order mild menu items that are seasoned just right.

Starting with a positive…they offer a welcoming environment. During my most recent visit, I ordered digitally so I could pick it up on my lunch break. The music was jammin’, so it would’ve been nice to dine inside. I was, however, happy to get back to the car and my food was still piping hot.

I started eating before exiting the parking lot because I wanted to enjoy my meal while it was fresh. The candy yams were sweet and tasty. The baked chicken was juicy and falling off the bone. It was so savory that I almost did not have any left by the time I got to work. I also enjoyed the green beans and I like that they had potatoes in them to add to the heartiness of the meal. While the macaroni and cheese looked wonderful, and I could see the seasoning, I was hoping to taste more herbs. I still devoured it. I only did not add my own seasoning because the rest of the meal was seasoned well enough that I did not want to overdo it….oh and I was still in the car:)

For dessert, I ordered banana pudding. My granny used to make theeeee best banana pudding so it’s one of those items I don’t always order because I don’t want to be disappointed. Well disappointed I was not! I had to stop myself from eating it all at once. I thought the price may be a bit much for one portion, however the size is enough to share among two adults or you could have some remaining for your morning coffee the next day for breakfast like I did.
