In its 166th year, Harris-Stowe State University continues on its path of educational and institutional excellence. As a husband of an alum, I take immense pride in the commitment towards those ends from Stowe’s excellent President Dr. LaTonia Collins-Smith, the faculty and staff, and the amazing student body.

HSSU Athletics

#SwarmUP and play Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Track and Field, Volleyball, or Softball at HSSU! If you have what it takes to be a Hornet then you can compete and earn a degree in STEM, Teaching, Marketing, and other disciplines. Harris-Stowe State University is a part of the NAIA athletic association and part of the American Midwest Conference.

The Harris–Stowe State men’s basketball team won the American Midwest Conference tournament championship in 2017 and 2018. The HSSU Women’s Soccer Team in 2023 is really tearing up the field and competition as it claimed its first votes to be considered in the NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches Top 25 rankings.

Harris-Stowe offers 50+ Academic options along with a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio to ensure students do not get lost in the shuffle and emerge with their intended degree. Current and future hornets who decide to don the Brown and Gold colors of HSSU will embark on careers that will help shape the future of the St. Louis region and beyond.
