Jelani Maraj, Rapper Nicki Minaj's Brother Found Guilty

According to USA Today, Jelani Maraj, brother to Nicki Minaj, was found guilty a few hours ago of predatory sexual assault in a case in which he was accused of raping an 11-year-old girl inside his Long Island home. Although, the girl is now 14-year-old, Maraj, she testified Maraj had been assaulting her for eight months.

During the trial, prosecutors stated DNA evidence was found inside the home to support the claims, and the victim’s brother also testified he witnessed the assault. Maraj’s lawyer say the rape allegations were created by the victim’s mother who demanded $25 million from the rapper as a means of keeping her daughter quiet. Neither Maraj or the Pink Friday artist testified during the case; however, Maraj’s lawyer stated they will appeal the verdict handed down.

Jurors delivered their verdict a few hours ago. The charges carry the potential for 25 years to life in prison.
