What’s going on y’all, we are back for another week of dope releases. This week we have R&B staging a comeback are at least it feels that way, I’m kidding or no? Plus, we have a few veteran emcees making their presence known and St. Louis rising artist Nando dropping his new single just ahead of all the 314 Day celebrations that will be taking place this weekend up until Tuesday, which is the official 314 Day celebration.

Talib Kweli & Madlib – Liberation 2

It was 2006 when Talib Kweli and Madlib connected for their first project. Now Kweli and Madlib have hooked up for their second installment of Liberation 2. Less than a year ago Madlib produced Black Star’s reunion album that released exclusively on Luminary. One thing that will not be lacking on this project is chemistry between these two.

Liberation 2 is full of stellar production by Madlib who finds some of the illest samples to turn into masterpieces. Backed by Kweli’s wordplay, Liberation 2 features several guests from the posthumous Mac Miller, Westside Gunn, Roc Marciano, Pink Siifu, Roy Ayers,Sean Kuti, Meshell Ndegeocello, Moonbyrd, Jessica Care Moore, and Kweli’s kids Diani, and Amani. Songs worth checking out on the project include “Ad Vice,” The Right to Love Us,” and “Riches Part Two”.

Elmiene – El Mean

Elmiene, pronounced (El Mean) as you can guest by the title of the ep. This is the latest project from the new and upcoming artist coming out Oxford, England. Back in January Elmiene released a single and video for “Endless No More” of which may have led to his more recent appearance on the Colors platform.

The five song project from Elmiene is a showcase of what is to come from the burgeoning artist. With smooth melodies, Elmiene fills a space for that singing we that a lot of us thought disappeared. Rather than suggesting a particular track this time around, attempt to put this own and create a vibe this weekend .

Blxst – Just For Clarity 2

After having a momentous year receiving Grammy nominations Blxst is back with his second installment of Just For Clarity 2. The four song pack is just enough to keep us salivating for his next major release. The project features guest appearances from Roddy Ricci, Larry June, and Terrace Martin.

G Perico – Hot Shot (Gangsta Grill)

G Perico has stayed busy grinding for the last year. His latest project Hot Shot a Gangsta Grillz mixtape produced by DJ Drama takes on the journey of the L.A. streets G Perico came up on. The project is full of that west coast sound that a few of us from the 90’s grew up on with Perico’s rap style.

Musiq Soulchild x Hit Boy – Victims & Villians

If you came up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s then Musiq Soulchild is someone you are quite familiar with. Super producer Hit Boy has linked up with Musiq Soulchild for a collaboration project titled Victims & Villains. With all the talk about R&B missing it is refreshing to see someone like Musiq Soulchild and Hit Boy stepping forward with some new music.

Nando – Loud

St. Louis rapper Nando is back with his first solo song “Loud” under Nappy Boy Records.
