This past week was the kick-off for a very important time in the lives of Kansas City’s most fashionable community of trendsetters. With an audience like the ones in attendance at the “Kansas City Fashion Week” donning some of the most innovative and fashion forward pieces, one could have easily mistaken them for runway muses.
This event was held at the Kansas City Union Station, a prominent destination for cultural and entertainment activities.
From the popular Photo Bus to Kansas Whiskey counter, one could ascertain a great deal of planning went into making this event a success, and spectators were in for a great night.
The ambiance was set, energy filled the air, and the patrons of Saturday’s show were graced with the stylish and sometimes edgy clothing lines of fresh new designers ranging from 17-year-old Kate Walz to the husband and wife team from Architexture.
Also featured was LB by Lauren Bander, whose pink gown in her AW14 collection was definitely a hit amongst our followers via Instagram (@deluxmagkc).
Koko Clemence, By Whitney and House of Cochon were some of the other designers as well as Laura Kathleen, who was the featured designer for the night.
You may remember St. Louis’ own, Laura Kathleen, from Project Runway-Season 9 and Project Runway All Stars-Season 2, and it is safe to say she has only gotten better with time; the construction of her pieces were impeccable.
Overall, the night showcased a glimpse into the talent and creativity the designers of Kansas City Fashion Week had to offer.
Shown below are some of our favorite pieces from each designer.
A huge thank you to Kathryn Mansur who invited us to be a part of this great event.
We definitely look forward to it next year!
