The IRIS 9000 by ThinkGeek isn’t the most necessary gadget one can purchase in this day and age, but we’re prepared to get one just because it’s named IRIS 9000 and looks like HAL from2001: A Space Odyssey. As for what the IRIS 9000 actually does — it’s essentially a speaker dock for your iPhone 4S that lets you interface with Siri remotely. You simply activate the application using the remote, and a built-in microphone allows you to voice your requests without having to actually handle the phone. Whether IRIS 9000 is capable of planting murderous thoughts in Siri is something you’ll have to check in the manual.
