We are in the final stretch of this year, which means that new releases will be slowing down for a moment. Over the next few weeks I will be discussing some of my favorite albums and songs of 2020. What was some of your favorite songs and projects from this year? What projects are you anticipating for the new year, I know I’m eagerly waiting for Kendrick Lamar, but if it happens to drop this year, I will not be mad.

Kid Cudi – Man on the Moon 3

When Covid hit earlier this year, it changed a lot of the things we do in our everyday life. A lot of people had to deal with a lot of added pressures brought on by the pandemic, and I felt that it’s only right that I lead this Enforcer Friday with Kid Cudi.

Kid Cudi Man on the Moon 3

“Man on the Moon 3” will serve as the final installment of the trilogy, if the cover is any indication of the album, then expect Cudi to intertwine his world with ours as he shares his thoughts. In an recent interview with Zane Lowe, Cudi expressed that he wanted to rap more on this album because he felt people slept on his lyricism and thanked Travis Scott for his inspiration to rap more. Man on the Moon 3 will feature several artist on the project, one of which is the late rapper Pop Smoke. What should you expect from this album? Expect for Cudi to dive into topics  and address his audience as he always does.

Jack Harlow – What’s Poppin

Jack Harlow, coming straight out of Louisville, has emerged as an artist to watch. Harlow made waves earlier this year when he released the infectious hit “What’s Poppin”, and followed that with the remix that features two of Hip Hop’s unfavorable at the moment Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne, along with Da Baby.

Harlow’s album is loaded with a ton of features and his latest visuals “Way Out” features Big Sean. Do not underestimate Harlow as another sing song rapper, when I caught wind of him a few years ago he was trading bars with Cyhi the Prynce on “Drip Drop”. This should be a fun album of good bars and vibey beats to end this year out right.

Kamaiyah – Still I Rise

This next artist has been through a few industry up and downs over the last year, recently leaving YG’s 4Hunnid label and her undisclosed beef with singer Kehlani. Kamaiyah has been fighting for her spot in Hip Hop. Being a woman in this hip hop industry can be tough and to see Kamaiyah putting out music and grinding on the independent circuit, I wanted to recognize her hard work.

Her latest  project “No Explanations”, says it all, Kamaiyah is not your run of the mill rapper who is going to waste her time feeling bad. Her latest single “Still I Rise” featuring Jackboy, Kamaiyah eludes to her haters trying to stop her shine, (I can’t trust nobody I tried/
Stood in my face, kept tellin’ me lies/On my own ten toes, n—–, I stood high
Tried to hold me down, n—-, still I rise). Kamaiyah’s independence can only spell success for the Oakland native. Kamaiyah’s flow is energetic, and combined with her bouncy sound makes for a good chemistry
