After decades of performing, Diana Ross also known as “The Boss” was the biggest honoree at the 2017 American Music Awards. The iconic superstar was the recipient of the coveted 2017 Lifetime Achievement award. With her family by her side, everyone was present to enjoy the moment with her.
The Motown legend also invited fellow Motown collaborators, Smokey Robinson and founder Berry Gordon on stage with her family. Prior to accepting her award, Ms. Ross gave us a riveting performance of some of her classic songs, “We Are the Word,” “Take Me Higher”, and The Wiz classic, “Ease On Down The Road.”
The award ceremony was a family affair as the legend’s daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the awards, and son Evan Ross presented the award. As a bonus, Tracee gave us a fashion peek into some of her mother’s iconic fashion styles.
In true legend fashion, the iconic singer even received a congratulatory message from America’s favorite couple, Barack and Michelle Obama. Never forgetting her fashion sense, Diana rocked a floor-length with a huge, purple tulle wrap. Reminding us all why she is still The Boss!
