It’s no secret that Cedric the Entertainer is from St. Louis. He reps his hometown whether he verbally gives the city a shout out, dances, or even speaks with the standard Midwest slang. His first stops when he hits the city are Goody Goody and his mom’s house. Coming up in a single parent household, he credits his mother with instilling respect and love in him. As funny as he is now, he was never a class clown growing up. In fact, when asked he said, “Momma didn’t play that. She was a school teacher so we grew up in a loving educated household. We knew to behave and always be respectful.”
