The Home of the Whopper is about to start selling beer.
Miami-based Burger King will serve beer and burgers at a new Whopper Bar it plans to open next month in South Beach, Fla., the company said Friday.
It will be the first to offer beer, with Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors products to start. The company said it plans to open additional Whopper Bars in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City and Malaga, Spain.
The South Beach restaurant will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provide a walk-up window as well as delivery.
The fast-food chain opened its first Whopper Bar last spring at Universal CityWalk in Orlando, but isn’t selling beer there.
The company’s first Whopper Bar in Europe opened last June in Munich, Germany, followed by one in Singapore in September and another in Venezuela in November.
The concept allows consumers to buy a Whopper, Double Whopper or Triple Whopper, and choose from more than 20 toppings.
Belgium-based Anheuser-Busch InBev owns Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis.
