Jilly from Philly Calls It Quits After One Year

Jill Scott has called it quits! It’s only been a year and half, but three-time Grammy award winning artist is filing for divorce for the second time. Married in June 2016, Scott and Dobson said I Do in a lavish and private ceremony attended by friends, family and a few celebrities without any of us even knowing. However, according to court documents obtained by the outlet, the newlywed bliss was short-lived. The Beautifully Human singer cited “irreconcilable differences” and that due to “appropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper.”

According to Dobson, he was blindsided by the divorce and has some choice words behind it. “She’s an evil woman. I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets. People are in her ear, and if someone comes in to challenge the dumb sh*t, they made me be the bad guy and that got me outta there. She’s got issues.”

Dobson went on to say, “There’s no men in that family, there’s only women. And when a man comes in, it’s like a challenge. She’s made other men look bad, but I’m not the one. I said (to her) ‘you’ve met your match.’”

Though not much has been heard from the singer, Scott’s estranged husband had plenty more to say when he implied to sources he wasn’t afraid of her and wouldn’t tolerate being bad-mouthed throughout the media. “I told her, she’s from Philly, but I’m from New York, and if you want to try to disgrace me, try to slander me, I can fight dirty.”

It has been reported both Scott and Dobson, have been living in separate domains since September. The singer is pushing to ensure their prenup is honored and enforced. This make marriage number two for the singer who was married to Lyzel Williams from 2001 to 2007. Scott was also engaged to her son’s father Lil John Roberts.
