LACK OF DIVERSITY IN THE FASHION WORLD?
We spend a lot of time chronicling the lack of diversity in the fashion industry. And for good reason–it’s a major problem. When top fashion magazines aren’t using models of color because they’re blind to their existence or would rather just paint a white model black then there’s no denying the issue at hand.
So, when CR Fashion Book’s market and beauty director, Shiona Turini, sent us the publication’s newest issue we were pleasantly surprised to find a feature showcasing the stunning black model Cora Emmanuel. But it didn’t end there, the book also revealed another shoot with the beautiful Maria Borges.
Boom! Two black beauties in two separate stories–a shining example that diversity is stunning and achievable. Bravo, CR!
