Jill Scott aint only hitting us hard with her new BRICKHOUSE STACKED BODY, but she’s bringing the heat with her 5th album….The Light Of the Sun. She’s got a nice little hip hop/soul vibe going on throughout, featuring cuts with Doug E. Fresh, Anthony Hamilton and Paul Wall [I know right LOL]. Her first single features the infamous E.V.E., “Shame” – it’s got a little late 80s/early 90s feel to it, which definitely pairs well with a hot link and a Corona w/a lime.
The Light Of the Sun definitely touches all bases – jazz, hip hop, r&b, groove ballads, and she even adds a few of her infamous moaning and groaning throughout. My favorite cut is the first one, “Blessed”, in which she reassures us to be thankful and blessed for all things we have.
If you don’t have this album yet, you are LOSING! Get it ASAP! Here’s why:
