What could Kanye West be up to now? From rapping to producing to fashion design, the artist is not afraid of taking chances and trying something new. Over the past few years, the rappers has been pretty ambitious regarding the business and artistic endeavors on his rise to the top, and it looks like his next venture is on the horizon. Having been an intricate part of launching Tidal, it appears Kanye is taking the reins and starting his own streaming service.

Recently applying for trademarks under his company, Mascotte Holdings, the rapper filed one for something called Yeezy Sound. Apparently, four separate trademarks have been filed, and the description for one of them indicates that the entity will be for “streaming of music, audio, images, video and other multimedia content over the internet, mobile devices, wireless networks and other computer networks and electronic communications networks.

Seems obvious to us this is a description for a streaming service. If the papers are legitimate, this could be huge news for the culture. Meaning the artist is jumping in the ring with Apple, Spotify, Tidal, and other music streaming services. We’re not sure if this is revenge or if this is another Kanye rant we will eventually do a serious eye roll to.

It’s no secret the rapper and Jay-z have had problems over the last year or so, which has led to them parting ways business wise this past summer. Allegedly, the dispute was over money causing Kanye to leave Tidal altogether.

Like his run for President in 2020, no official announcement has been made. Currently, the trademarks are listed under “intent-to-use.” Which means he hasn’t used them yet, but if we know the ambitious artist like we think we do….he will be soon.
